Hermon: A mountain in Israel capped with snow it reminded of the elderly.
Psalm 133 (KJV) “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life forever more.”
Huis Hermon was officially opened on 12 October 1973. During the 1960’s poverty was experienced by many elderly who had hoped to make a make a more economical living on the plots just north of Pretoria (Onderstepoort).
